Your surgeon will care for you on the day of the operation and at scheduled follow-ups, but recovery is a long process. Surgeons, while highly skilled, often have limited time due to their busy schedules. You may find yourself uncertain about whether your recovery is progressing normally or if something requires attention. Though you’ll receive a 24-hour emergency contact number, what happens when you’re unsure if something is truly an emergency? What if you have a question that you feel is too minor to ask your surgical team but is causing you anxiety?

While we cannot prevent complications or change outcomes, we can help identify issues early and offer the correct advice to ensure the best possible recovery. Our remote services, available via phone and WhatsApp, offer support wherever and whenever you need it.

    • Remote wound checks to ensure healing is progressing as expected.
    • Expert advice on dealing with infected wounds or seromas (fluid buildup).
    • Nutritional and lifestyle advice to help you achieve the best possible results from your surgery.
    • Comprehensive scar management and advice on reducing scarring.
    • Assistance with caring for implants, where applicable.
    • Recommendations on when and how to safely return to exercise and work.

Our virtual nursing service offers emotional support whenever and wherever you need it, ensuring you have a reliable, empathetic source of care even during those moments when you feel most vulnerable—often when your surgeon or clinic may be unavailable.

  • What you can expect

    • 2/ 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO SURGERY DATE. We will contact you to introduce ourselves and explain what you can expect from the Informed specialist aftercare service and build your confidence well in advance of your surgery date.
    • WEEKS 0-3. The service is available to you 24/7 for post operative advice during this time as this is usually the period when you will feel most vulnerable.
    • WEEKS 4-8. WhatsApp and phone enquires will be answered 9-8pm 7 days a week. Please note that the 8 weeks is a guideline and we will always support you beyond this should the need arise.

  • Pricing

    The cost of our service for 3 weeks pre op and approx. 8 weeks of post op support from the Specialist Nursing team is £500.
